What we hold about you, why we hold it, and what you can do about it. Written from what the site actually does rather than from a template — including the two bits people are usually surprised by.

The short version
Riftoria is a volunteer-run in-house league. We hold the minimum needed to run games, keep a ladder and moderate the place — and we don't sell any of it, because there is nobody to sell it to and no money in it either way.
- Signing in with Discord is what creates your account.
- Linking a Riot account is optional and can be undone.
- Games you play here are recorded, and most of it is public — that's what a leaderboard is.
- We don't run ads and we don't sell or share data with advertisers.
- You can ask for your data or ask us to delete it, and we'll do it.
Who is responsible
Riftoria is run by volunteers, not a company. It is not a Riot Games product and Riot has no part in operating it.
For anything in this document — a question, a copy of your data, a deletion — the fastest route is a direct message to staff on our Discord, and that's the contact point for the rest of this page.
What we hold
Everything below is either given to us by you or produced by playing here.
**From Discord, when you sign in.** Your Discord user id, username, display name, avatar and the email on your Discord account. This is what an account *is* here — there is no password and no separate registration.
**From Riot, if you choose to link.** Your Riot ID and tagline, your region, your encrypted PUUID, your summoner level and icon, and your ranked tiers. Linking is optional, the site works without it, and unlinking removes the connection.
**From playing.** Which games you were in, what you picked, your scoreboard line, the drafts you were part of, your rating and its history, your coins and every transaction behind them, bets you place, and anything you win.
**From using the site.** Your profile — banner, country, chosen title, sound pack — plus comments you leave on profiles, notifications sent to you, and a record of whose profiles you visit.
**A guess at your country**, from the network your request arrived on, used to decide whether betting features are shown to you. You can override it in your settings; see the section on betting below.
Profile visits, said plainly
When you look at somebody's profile, that visit is recorded and **they can see it was you**. It is a feature, not a side effect, and people are routinely surprised by it — so it gets its own section rather than a line in a list.
If you'd rather not appear there, don't open the profile. There is no invisible mode.
Notes staff keep
Staff can write private notes about members. There are two kinds and neither is visible to the person it's about:
- **Moderation notes** — context on warnings, bans and disputes, kept so a decision made in six months knows what happened today.
- **Caster notes** — prep for whoever is commentating a tournament series, so they have something to say about a player on air.
Both are readable by staff only. Neither is used for anything but moderating and running events, and you can ask what's on file about you.
What's public
A league that keeps its results secret isn't a league, so a lot of this is on purpose:
- Your display name, handle, avatar, banner, country flag and titles.
- Your rating, level, record, achievements and any records you hold.
- Every game you play here, including your scoreboard line and the draft.
- Bets you place, in the lobby they were placed in.
- Comments you leave on profiles, under your name.
Your email is never shown to anybody. Your Discord id is visible to other members in a few places — it's the address people use to message you, and every mention in the server exposes it anyway.
Why we hold it
- **To run games** — building lobbies, drafting, reporting results.
- **To keep a ladder** — ratings, leaderboards, records and history.
- **To moderate** — warnings, bans, and the notes explaining them.
- **To reach you** — notifications on the site, and Discord messages about games, results and things you're part of.
- **To keep it fair** — spotting second accounts, boosting and abuse of the coin economy.
We don't profile you for advertising, and we don't make automated decisions about you that have any effect beyond the game — matchmaking and rating are the only automatic things here, and both are just arithmetic on results.
Who else sees it
Only what running the site requires:
- **Discord** — sign-in, and the bot that posts lobbies and sends you messages.
- **Riot Games** — only if you link an account, and only to read what's yours.
- **Supabase** — the database, and the storage the banners you upload sit in.
- **Vercel** — hosting, and basic traffic analytics that count page views rather than follow people.
That's the list. Nothing is sold, and nothing is handed to advertisers or data brokers.
Coins and betting
Coins are made up. They cost nothing, buy nothing outside this site, cannot be exchanged for money, and have no value — the terms say the same thing and mean it.
Because some places regulate the *appearance* of gambling regardless, we use the country guess described above to decide whether betting features are offered to you. That guess is used for that, and nothing else.
How long we keep it
- **Your account** — until you ask us to delete it.
- **Match records** — indefinitely. They're the league's history, and a leaderboard with games removed from underneath it is wrong rather than private.
- **Moderation records** — as long as they're useful for consistent decisions.
- **Staff applications** — kept while they're being considered, and afterwards so we know who has already applied.
When an account is deleted, the games stay but stop being attributed: the seat keeps the numbers and loses the person. That's a deliberate compromise between your privacy and nine other people's results.
What you can ask for
- **A copy** of what we hold about you.
- **A correction**, if something is wrong.
- **Deletion** of your account — see above for what survives it and why.
- **Unlinking** your Riot account, which you can do yourself in settings at any time.
- **An explanation** of anything on this page, including what's in a staff note about you.
Ask staff on Discord. There's no form and no waiting period — we'll just do it.
Depending on where you live you may have these rights in law as well as by our say-so. We're not going to make you cite the law to use them.
Keeping it safe
Traffic is encrypted, the database isn't public, and only staff can reach the admin tools. Sign-in goes through Discord, so we never see or store a password.
We're volunteers running a game league, not a bank. We take it seriously and we're not going to pretend it's bulletproof.
Younger players
You need to be old enough to hold a Discord account where you live — thirteen in most places, older in some. That's in the terms too.
If we find out an account belongs to somebody under that age, we'll remove it and what's on it.
Changes
When this changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant — new data, or an existing thing used for something new — we'll say so in the patch notes rather than hoping you re-read the page.
The terms sit alongside this document and cover the rest of it.
